Detroit INIT

I bet you guys out there on the interwebs have all heard about the doom and gloom news reports about crumbling, derelict Detroit. Well good old Vice got together with Palladium boots and Johnny Knoxville to meet the creative young people who are working to rebuild their city. It's not all bad as the broadsheets may lead you to believe; there's a lot of hope here. The cities' like a blank canvas, a fresh approach and a fresh start. We think this is our best yet, so go and take a look.

Heritage boot brand Palladium are continuing their quest to explore hidden, forgotten and abandoned places in urban environments. Their latest exploration entitled "Detroit Lives" features Johnny Knoxville, who takes viewers on an "off-the-beaten path" exploration through the city to discover if there's more to Detroit than the scenes of destruction and abandonment that it has become known for.

Once the fourth-largest metropolis in America—some have called Detroit the Death of the American Dream. In this 30 minute 3-episode documentary, Knoxville discovers a DIY paradise full of artists and entrepreneurs who view the abandoned "D" as a raw space where young people can create community and start rebuilding their city from the inside out. A burgeoning class of young people are inspiring each other by using the cities 'disadvantages' as opportunities. His hosts include notable Detroit punk band The Dirtbombs and hip-hop artist Black Milk.

Sink into the tune, As I inhale the fumes

Last week before I go back to college so thought a post was needed.
I got my first spam yesterday, someone commented on a post saying "this website is very helpful for BuYiNg vIaGrA" with a little link. If I'm getting spam I must be doing something right.

The Cure - Boys Don't Cry
I honestly don't know why I've only just gotten into the cure, they really are ridiculously good. This and Lovecats are my favourites, this slightly beats lovecats though just due to the awesome riff. I love how they've made what could have been a highly depressing song into a cheerful lovely tune about missing your ex. And it's true, boys don't cry. they bottle it all up, laugh about it and secretly die a little inside. but all very cheerfully.

Katy B - Katy on a Mission
I have yet to work out how exactly to describe this. It's produced by the godfather of Dubstep, Benga, but it really doesn't have much bass. It's certainly got the wobbles but most of the song is concentrated on the lyrics. It's definitely a tune though, if you can get past all the angry dubstepheads saying "THIS IS SHIT DUBSTEP IS NOW MAINSTREAM IT WAS SO MUCH BETTER WHEN RUSKO DID IT", Even though rusko was the start of dubstep becoming shit. but still, ignore them and just enjoy the song, I'm finding it annoyingly addictive listening.

Bart B More - Brap!
I think I've covered most of my favourite genres in this post so it's time to bust out some electronica. Again, this guy's signed to BNR so it's got to be a good song. and fuck it really really is. The intro is ridiculously long but you don't even care that much cos it's fun to sing along to. then around 50seconds in you notice something building up slowly. it keeps getting louder until..
BRAP and a hefty drop 2minutes in that will literally make a dance floor explode. just give it a ganders. also I really want that vinyl, it looks so sick!

B-Complex - Beautiful Lies
Lots of things have B in today don't they? anywho, this is without a doubt my favourite dnb song I've heard in the last couple of months. I don't know why but absolutely everything about it works together perfectly to make an awesome song for whatever you're doing. seriously, I've listened to this when running, when doing homework and at a big party, it fits literally any situation. listen and enjoy.

Middle Fingers Up!

Well I've had a few more days of being fucked up but now I'll get my cheap thrills from tunes such as these. Enjoy.

Lil' Jon - U Don't Like Me
What a tune. Lil' Jon is the king of Crunk (angry loud shouty rap) and this proves it. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE. Notice the awesome heavy bassline? that would be due to the guy who produced the track, Thomas Wesley Pentz otherwise known as Diplo. yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, he's done it again. The bassline is what makes this track insane. The vocals of course add that singalong aspect so the whole track just comes together as a heavy dirty crunk tune. I'm tempted to buy a car just to drive around playing this constantly to scare old people.

Chase & Status - Let You Go Ft. Mali
The first new thing C&S have done that isn't on an album. Definitely more drum and bass than their old dubby stuff, quite nice. It's quite stadium drum and bass kind of stuff though, straying into pendulums new territory, They'd better watch out or they'll become utter douches just like pendulum did. The video is lol worthy, although the segments of the video that stray into the actual song sort of ruin the build up. But still, goooood song although not quite as good as most the stuff on their first album.

Egyptian Hip Hop - Middle Name Period
I've never heard this group before but wowowowowowowow this is awesome. I don't even know what genre to describe this as, they remind me of Holy Fuck! but more garage band-y. even though they sound like the songs were recorded in some mate of theirs basement, the guy who actually produces for them is the frontman from Late Of The Pier. Which would explain why this song is just so damn good. literally, listen or get off this blog naow.

Crystal Fighters - In The Summer (Tek One Remix)
I'm in love with crystal fighters. If you wanna hear how cool they are look up "xtatic truth", however this is more about Tek One's remixing skills than Crystal Fighters coolness. They've done an insane dubstep remix of BMTH (which was the most heavy thing I've ever heard) and they've done it again on this one. loooong build up to make you think it's chillout then a niiiiiice introduction of bassline. The original is still epicly good though so I'm posting both links.Sue me.
Link - Remix
Link - Original

Rigggght well that was fun and took me about 3 days to complete (easily distracted init.)
I've got results out tomorrow so expect to not hear from me for the next week or so at least. I'll either be so happy I wanna partyhard all the time or I'll have run away from home to avoid madre and padre.

1 Aug 2010

Imagine a song that reached out and touched kids, not in a daily mail way..

I'm BACK Babbbby.
Apologies for the lack of recent posting, it's been a rather hectic month or so.
Luckily I've still been discovering awesome songs in my free time but I haven't had time to write them down until now (mostly cos it's the first time in a month when I haven't been coming down/hungover/out)
So lets dance to some new tuuunes.

Example - Kickstarts (Bar 9 Remix)
Example is fairly well known now (I should have written about him a month or two ago but I forgot) luckily this remix is still fairly underground even though it has got a kickass (literally) video. Bar 9 never fails to bust out the best old school deep dubstep and he's succeeded yet again into making a classic song out of this. Nice work mr 9.

Jack Beats - UFO
I may have already posted this song and I couldn't care less as long as I get a few more people to listen to it. Just found out that Jack Beats is more than one person and half of him is in scratch perverts! Who knew. Anyway this is probably my favourite original song he/they've made. The intro has the nicest Miami bass and then after the drop it's impossible not to skank along to the fidgetty wobbles. I know it's an old song but it's still a absolute banger.

Dan Le Sac VS Scroobius Pip - Get Better
The new DLSVSSP Album is soso good. It's not quite as good as angels (their first album) but it's still easily one of the best albums of the year. Can't wait to see the beardy poet and the slightly balding dj again. This is one of the best from the new album, quite feel good but with the usual scroobius wit and usual le sac sick beats.

The Bloody Beetroots Ft. Refused - New Noise
TBB can now apparently do punk. And do it fucking well if this remix is anything to go by. If you don't like heavy guitars and all that jazz than don't bother looking at this. however if you love insane drops then this is easily one of the best. Probably my favourite TBB remix. Even though the original of this track is insane, The remix is so much heavier and louder. CAN I SCREAM?

The King Blues - What if Punk Never Happened?
I only just started listening to The King Blues, they're simply incredible. Amazing lyricists and such good producers of absolute tunes. I've had their album on repeat for the last week or so, I don't know a single person that wouldn't absolutely love it. This is a highlight from it, A whole story synopsised in an amazing 6.30 minutes. They even bring Back To The Future into it. It makes you glad of Punk, even if you don't like the music.

Right that's 5 Songs, enough for one post at least. I promise promise promise I'll post more soon.

26 Jun 2010

Just an ordinary day, till you came around. and now my life's upside down.

sup blogosphere, fancy some newish music?
yeah you do.

Dennis Ferrer - Hey Hey
Apparently this is the "house tune of the year" according to all the music magazines. Firstly, we're only halfway through the year so it's WAAAAAAAAAY too early to say that. secondly it is a fucking good song but not incredible. I do love the drums and synth though. the "HEYHEY" bit gets slightly irritating after a while though. still, nice work.

Kele - On The Lam
I thought tenderoni was good but FUCK kele's debut solo album is so so good. This is one of my favourites on the album, mostly for the obvious dubsteppy influence. Utterly sick bassline and as always Kele's singing makes everything in the world better. He could sing over a blackout crew song and I'd still love it. good job mr okereke.

UK Apache & Shy Fx - Original Nuttah
probably the oldest song I've ever posted (1994), totally awesome though. The MC on the track is so intense that I think his voice must kill old people if they walk too close to him. If anyone reading this can actually work out what he's saying I'll be amazed. but who cares what he's saying, whatever it is, it sounds awesome. It would be worth looking like an utter douchbag to be able to MC like that. and of course Shy Fx shoves some sweet drums over the top of it all, making a awesomeawesome track all together.

Bloc Party - The Once And Future King
Whoever decided not to properly release this song is an idiot. It's definitely in the top 5 bloc party songs I've heard, Kele's voice is epic, the riff is awesome and the drums sound ridiculously good too. All in all a pretty awesome song which should have been on A weekend in the city.

That'll do for naow, goodbye and goodluck

14 Jun 2010

Live Fast/Die Young/Fuck everyone.

Fuck, I really don't write in here enough do I?
I'll try to do more but things are up in the air atm so if I can't then sorry.
well lets not beat around the bush, we both know what we're both here for.

Designer Drugs - Drop Down
SO this song was in an advert for skins, but don't worry it isn't classic teenage angst and drugs and sex and more sex. It's an awesome slice of dirty electro from NY. Not very dancy but makes you see red. in a good way. The intro has the nicest beat ever, and the sample they use sounds like it's actually talking to you. I nearly took off my headphones to see if someone actually was. then Kpow the electronic wobbley bits come in and it's just brill.

Bassnectar VS Groove Armada - Superstylin Smashup
Holy Hell this is heavy. Everyone in the world should know superstylin and it's a good song anyway but fuck this is something new and awesome and wow. I guess it's dubstep but it's done so well, the vocals from superstylin are played over the top giving it a sort of reggae sound but
the bassline is pure Californian filth. New favourite dub song? maybe.

Danny Byrd - Red Mist VIP
I've started really enjoying drum and bass recently, god knows why, but this is definitely my favourite dnb song of the moment at least. The (trumpet?some kind of horn) intro bit makes you feel all happy inside. Then the vocals come in and you still feel happy until you realise he's talking about getting in a fight. but then it slows it down and suddenly you're just waiting for an awesome drop. OH and there it goes, into said awesome drop. sweet bassline and tasty drum beats. fuck, it really is very good.

The Cool Kids - Black Mags
Now for something completely different-old school ultra cool hip hop. Literally the cool kids couldn't be any cooler. If someone finds a way for them to be any cooler the world will implode. This song proves it. Best song on their old EP, no doubt. The deep sample they use for the chorus is from another one of their songs (Gold and a Pager) but slowed down and a lot more bassy. The weirdest thing is that you realise near the end that they've just been rapping about riding bikes the whole time, not the coolest thing ever but they manage to make it rad. I think I'll get a bike.

Dan Le Sac VS Scroobius Pip - Look For The Woman (Fake Blood Remix)
Before I write about the song, I wish to inform the world that I was present when DLS vs SP played the original of this song for the first time. and I was standing next to the main character from the video. there, that's my hipster cred raised, now anyway onto Fake Blood. OMFG HE/SHE is so fucking good. literally, (fuckit I'm just gonna say he for now, sorry for the possible sexism) he makes anything and everything he touches sounds shweeeeeeeeeet. it's impossible not to dance to mars,I think I like it or Fix your accent. And he's done it again with this song, but as I'm lying in bed typing this, I can't dance so I shall just tap my feet and hum along. yeah, it's that good.

One more? yeeeeeeeeeeeah why not.

David Guetta Ft. Kid Cudi - Memories
I only recently realised just how good David Guetta actually is. He may look like a douchebag but daaaaaamn that man can make some nice beats. This is one of them. and also it's got the amazing Kid Cudi in so luckily his rad-ness draws attention away from Guettas weirdness. I'm guessing Cudi came up with the lyrics cos they're good but corny, which is pretty normal for him. If you like this check out On the dancefloor by David Guetta (I'd link it but I have no motivation or effort left)

Joe just got me listening to Taking Back Sunday and MCR again so expect more guitar-y posts soon.

9 Jun 2010

So I know I don't normally do just text posts but I thought I'd let people know about the best thing I've seen in a while, The creators Project.
It's basically some awesome idea that Vice (The fucking cool free magazine) and Intel (no idea why they're helping but they make fuckloads of computers so it can't be a bad thing). Think of it as a kinda arts foundation to support artists (music / fashion /art / whatever). It’s kinda like making the best use of technology to support creativity. I like the sound of it. In their own words: “Status quo is just not enough.”

At the moment they already have some ridiculously cool artists on there like Diplo and CSS and they're getting some more cool people soon like Gang Gang dance and Boys Motherfucking Noize. But the main reason for this post is to big up Mark Ronson. I only recently realised how cool mr.ronson actually is. Sure he's produced some gimmicky covers before but some of the stuff he's done is fucking cool. Check him out here http://www.thecreatorsproject.com/en-uk/creators/mark-ronson
The man loves HipHop, works with Amy winehouse (who apart from being all druggy is actually really cool) and has a new album coming out soon which sounds really good actually. It's not all covers this time, he's done his own stuff like this (Link) which I really like the sound of.

anywho, that's enough of that for now, more of the normal post sometime this week probably

30 May 2010

Oh Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn I wish I could go to this!
Seriously, looks like it would be cool.

19 May 2010

I'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good.

Wagwaaaan, I've been revising for a while now but I don't have any exams for a whooooooooooooole week[Okay, now it's 2 days, I got distracted when writing this post] so I'm getting a LOT of music ready for the epic amount of studying I have planned. I'm posting a selection from the last few days now, I'll post more next week before my exams start again.

M.I.A. - Born Free (High Contrast Remix)
I've never heard of a music video getting as much controversy as Born Free got. I really didn't think it was that bad but what do I know, I play video games and take drugs so I must be out to murder the world and their grandmas. Anyway I didn't expect many remixes of this track but High Contrast for some reason decided to make one and it's pretty good actually. Not incredible but still pretty good. He's not done just a flat out 140bpm drum beat throughout the whole track, it's actually been done really really well and kept some of the original bits in to add effect. Nice work you welsh boy.

Diplo - C'mon
ahem, yes it's clearly just a Diplo track. It's definitely not a collaboration with a shit DJ who I hate with a passion. okay fine it is, DON'T JUDGE ME. It's just that Diplo's awesome-ness outweighs Tiestos utter douchebaggery. Moving on quickly, it's a nice electro house number but you can clearly see all the signs of Tiesto, the quiet piano getting louder, the annoying voice that yells before the drop etc. Argh, I wish I didn't like this.

Bloc Party - Version 2.0
Very Very Very happy I found this album. Never knew it existed until about a week ago, it's easily as good as all the other albums they've done. Not quite as good as Silent Alarm though, but not much is really. Another Weekend In The City is a collection of B-sides, Demos and Remixes that have been hidden away, all released on one album. The songs vary in style but this one is my favorite. It sounds just like it should be on Intimacy (Bloc party's 3rd album). Loverly synths and guitar throughout.

Kid Cudi - Pursuit Of Happiness
God this is a good song. Day N Night made me think Cudi was just some bell end rapper who liked crookers a bit too much. I was sososo wrong. He's a fucking AWESOME rapper, this proves it. MGMT and Ratatat worked with him on the track, making it even better. Even if it was just him rapping with no music it would still be awesome. It's quite slow but in a chillout/trippy kind of way, not a sleepy kind of way. If there's one song from this post you listen to, make it this one. yes, it's that good.

Kele - Tenderoni
So another song with this guy, although it's his solo stuff which is VERY different from bloc party. I think it's electro, maybe moving into the techno kind of region. The synth is really good but it's really his voice that makes the track good. I'm not sure I'll get the album but it's a good opening single. And I just found out he's playing in a town near me, but it's over 18. I'm thinking I might get a fake ID just for it.

That will do for now I guess, I should be getting a super new banner at the top of the page soon thanks to the brilliant Mel (As if you didn't already know) so that should be cooooooooooooool. I may post again this week, depends on my motivation to revise. Anywho, goodnight all.

4 May 2010

To Begin, At The Beginning

So thought I had 1000 words to do for tomorrow but a friend told me it doesn't have to be in till next week. THANK FUCK for that because I was already writing a post and here it is.

DJ Cable - Mr Muscles Hype
A lovelylovely mashup between Tempa T and Rusko done by some small DJ. I'm pretty sure this was in the first post I ever did on here but I've just re-discovered it so I'm re-posting it. Tempa T makes any vocals sound so violent it makes you want to go kick a granny. And Rusko has the occasional awesome track, luckily Mr. Muscles Hype (The original) was one of them. The DJ who did this worked out the timings perfectly too, either that or it was the luckiest mashup ever.

Walter Murphy - A Fifth Of Beethoven (Soulwax Remix)
There was massive dispute over whether this song was actually from soulwax or not, turned out it was. Kind of obvious that it is, can't you tell from the drums and bassline? Such a classic, even made me actually like classical music instead of just respecting it.um.not much else to say on that one actually.

Peter Bjorn and John - Young Folks (Diplo Youngest Folks Remix)
Right I know I love Diplo too much but I've only just started listening to his actual albums (Decent Work For Decent Pay and Florida). WOW They're so good! This is definitely one of the highlights on DWFDP, Easily one of the best remixes I've heard from him. He somehow manages to get a drop into one of the most chilled out songs I've ever heard. Also I don't know what instrument he plays over the top of the whistling part but I want one. It may actually be a guitar but he's done some odd things with it. well he is odd so why not ey.

Erol Alkan Feat. Boys Noize - Avalanche
If anyone remembers how much I was adoring Lemonade a few weeks ago then you'll hate me for this one too. This is the other song released on the same vinyl as lemonade. ( Quick note- Bought the vinyl of Avalance/Lemonade the other day IT'S SO GOOD and there's only 250 in the world. ) Unfortunately it is classed as "Techno" which means it should utterly suck, be played in shitty European and chav clubs and possibly be played by Tiesto (Uhhh.) But then again it is Boys noize, who already is a god and erol alkan, who is quickly moving up the ranks to godliness. So enjoy.

More would be added but 30 Rock is on so goodbye.

26 Apr 2010

Everytime I fell for you

rather not be talking so I'm writing instead.

DJ Hazard and Distorted Minds - Mr Happy
OldOldOLD school drum and bass song, I feel dirty listening to anything where one of the artists has DJ in front of their name. But I'm willing to put up with it for the loveeeeely synthy bit in the song that makes it drop. of course it drags on but what d'you expect?

Project Bassline - Drop The Pressure ( Jack Beats Remix)
This got played at least 10 times at Matt's party on sat, one of the few things I remember was how I didn't get annoyed about it for the whole night. Simply because the drop is utterly insane. It may be one of the best drops I've heard in all electro, fidget, dub etc. The original is pretty tasty too but of course Jack Beats simply can't fail at remixing a track. He is made of pure Win and wobbles.

Chairlift - Bruises (Passion Pit Remix)
Spent a good 20 minutes evaluating this song with chums today, decided that it's nice and chilled but still with enough of a synthy-electro solo bit to make it danceable at party's. sounds like the kind of song couples will dance to and single people will feel lonely when it's playing at party's. Also Chairlift are really fucking good, check them out.

N.A.S.A - Gifted Ft. Kanye West, Santogold & Lykke Li (Steve Aoki Remix)
I think I may have accidentally made a rule that I always post at least one Steve Aoki, Boys Noize or Diplo song per post. But I honestly don't care, especially when it's this nice a fidgety. Plus N.A.S.A absolutely rule anyway (Look up Watchadoin? and Money) even if Kanye West is in the song, at least he's only in it for a little at the beginning. It's not too filthy but it is still a prettttttty tasty tune.

the rest is silence.

or at least until I can be fucked to do another one.

22 Apr 2010

Heaven Is Nowhere, Just Look To The Stars.

Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas lets have some tunes.
This post is thanks to a collaboration between myself and Matt Huddlestone on fb chat.

Drumsound & Bassline Smith - Are You Ready?
Oh wowowow. a song that has instantly got me back into drum and bass. as Matt said "this, my party, alcohol and a bucket of sick". I think that sums up this song quite nicely, it's a heavy party where someone needs to be nursed or they may pass out and die.Loving the mix of the dubstep in the main beat, sounds quite like a calmed down borgore or datsik. But yeah, basically it's rather sick.

Pirate Soundsystem - Bump
LovelyLovely smooth bassline from the pirates who did the awesome wiley remix. Drop takes ages and ages to get there and then just when you think it has to drop they but a pre-drop in, killing the bass and bringing it back in for a hugely-massive-seriously-it's-really-fucking-big drop. Oh I do adore bassline.

Foreign Beggars - Contact (Noisia Remix)
I think I may have posted this before but if you've heard it you really won't care. I first heard it about 6 months ago, must listen to it at least once a week and it still makes me do a funny little dance in my seat when it drops. The original is quite good as well but, as usual, adding drums and a heavyheavy bassline makes it better. Oh and for the people listening to it for the first time, the drop isn't until 1.07, the weird slowed down rapping bit is worth sitting through, trust me.

Sound Of Stereo - Flatland
A billion thanks to Jace for getting me into S.O.S, wowwowowowowowow they're niiiiiiiice. that's a lot of vowels there but they deserve it. Zippers was a absolute beast but now they're back with a tasty new electro tune released on Dim Mak ( Steve Aoki's label) and you know how I feel about anything Steve Aoki related. Flatland sounds like a mix between Les Petits Pilous and Major lazer. Lovely static-y heavy tunes with big old drum beats in the background. MMMMMM that's goood.again with the vowels!

Hot Chip - I Feel Better
Okay Hot Chip have always been pretty good but they've so outdone themselves now, This is easily my favorite song of the week/month so far. The amazing singer from Hot Chip still has his incredibly high voice that made me think he was a she for the first 2 months after I heard them, and he works amazingly on this song. Lots of violins/cellos/somestringedinstrument and a good use of a sampler make this track amazingawesome and any other compliment that starts with A.
Fuck it, I'll stretch to B.
Link ( Quick Note- The video is the most trippy thing you will ever see in your life, I don't think I blinked for the whole thing. Utterly confusing but pretty fucking awesome.)
Link PTII ( plain song, no added bits from video, does actually sound better. )

shit, college.
fuckit. nightms

15 Apr 2010

Natter no longer matters.

Due to unfortunate circumstances my other blog is gone for the time being.
Not sure anyone cares that much but let me know if you do, trust me it's a humdinger of a good reason.

4 Apr 2010

I don't usually post like this but..

With this song I thought it was nessecary. Haven't heard something this good for ages.

25 Mar 2010

Bastard child of guilt and hate

This post is partly because I'm bored, partly because I want to save a friends ears and partly because I want to forget I have 1000 words and a presentation to be handed in in about 8 hours.
So music yes?

Bloc Party - Helicopter (Diplo Remix)
In case you missed my last post about diplo, let me tell you the main points about it. He. Is. GOD.
OK? good. And, what with him being god and all that, he does do some fucking good remixes. Such as this epicly good one. When someone remixes an already brilliant song it takes some skill to make it actually sound better. But gollygosh I think he's done it. A lovely bleepy bassline and a shweeeet sounding drum machine make the Keles vocals even better than normal. no, I didn't think it was possible either.

High Powered Boys - Hoes Get Down
Right this song is aaaaaaaaaancient but I still love it for it's simplicity. Uses three words, the same drum beat and only about 10 notes in the whole song. But somehow those boys managed to make something this addictive. srsly, before I got rid of iTunes about 2 years ago I had listened to it 300+ times. It must be nearly 1000 times now. and I still love it!

Pirate Soundsystem - Rave Issues
Going a bit old school with this one. No it isn't dubstep as people have been saying on youtube, it's bassline. And fucking good bassline at that! seeing as the whole world went very quickly from bassline to dubstep, all the one hit wonders were forgotten. Which, seeing as most of them were pretty shite, is probably a good thing. Luckily the genre survived and kept making wobbly bass. Screw you dubsteppers, I wanna go back to the days when this was popular!

Les Petits Pilous - Russian Forest
I can't decide which song is the best on LPP's new EP. I want them all of course and probably will get them all. but I think the beat on this just makes it beat the others. No where near as hyped up as 'Wake Up', sounds sort of like a old boys noize track. which it probably should as they're signed to Boys Noize records. Still, a fucking good song.

Right, next post I do, I promise not to mention boys noize. pinky promise.
now let me sleep.

16 Mar 2010

The bass keeps coming and coming and coming

OHai, it's been a while since a nice proper post hasn't it?
so I'll do a goodn' for you lot tonight. Lots of electro, some fidget and a bit of dubstep. sound good?

Strip Steve - Dancin

Right for starters we have a nice song I heard on a loooooong mix. The guy is signed onto boys noize records so it should just be a plain electro tune yes? no. sounds it at the start but wait until 1.30. That's when the bass slaps you in the face. can't WAIT to play this through some good headphones or at a party. [Link not available, I'll upload soon as I can.]

Boys Noize - Starter
Okay now it's some good old fashioned heavyheavy electronica. from the King of electro himself. THANK YOU Jace for lending me the album this is on, made my week. and apologies for cracking the case. anyway, it's classic boys noize, all blips and bleeps and high speed loops and painfully good cuts and jumps. As soon as the first drop comes in it melted my ear holes slightly. In a veryvery good way. It may be my favorite boys noize song, at least until lemonade is released.

Laidback Luke & Diplo - Hey! (Foamo Remix)
Laidback Luke is a ridiculously good house music producer. and Diplo is just, well, god. No joke, he is the best producer and mashup DJ I've ever heard. But unfortunately he went a bit mental with the original of this song, it just doesn't sound right. Luckily Foamo went and shoved some lovely fidgety wobbles over the top. Definitely made it better. I think even Diplo accepts that in his godly-ness, he put this remix on an album instead of his original. So he's a good loser atleast?

All Leather - I Don't Hate Fags, God Does (His Majesty Andre Screams Louder Now Remix)
I don't know why I'm loving fidget house so much at the moment. Maybe because it's fucking AWESOME? This is another example although it is straining into the dubstepy area. But fuckmesideways it's a tune, no matter what genre you class it as. Stupid name but whatever. Thank you Dim Mak for such a banger.

Erol Alkan & Boys Noize - Lemonade
Wasn't planning on putting this song in but I heard the full version about 5 minutes ago and ohmygodit'ssogood. And I know this means I've posted 2 boys noize songs in one post but It is so worth it. It sounds just like a redone and more tuneful version on 'Waters of Nazareth' by Justice (awesome song, check it out). Can't fucking WAIT for this to start being sold, I'm buying the vinyl asap. I know it's kinda pointless as vinyl player is currently broken but it's worth having the vinyl just incase. I just listened to the song about 5 times on repeat, I don't think it can ever get old. Apologies for the poor radio rip but it's the only full length version on youtube.

Right that'll do then, goodbye and good luck.

not sure what you need luck with but I hope you get it.

Not a real post

As the title suggests, there won't be much music here. Haven't got time or energy to put up links or write song reviews. Just some random things I want to say.
Firstly, a request. If ANYONE has any of the following songs please send them to me, they're fucking impossible to find.

-Natty - If I
-Wiley - Cash In My Pocket (Chew Fu BIG Room Remix)
-Erol Alken & Boys Noize - Lemonade
-Cake on Cake's second album

Cheers if anyone sends them.
Secondly, a thank you. To anyone and everyone who actually reads my blog, cheers. I've had a ridiculous amount of compliments about it and have actually made some friends because of it. So yay for that.

and thirdly, as a little treat, a few songs. Sorry for having on short descriptions but I have to get up at 6.30 tomorrow morn.
Shout out Louds - Fall Hard (Passion Pit's summertime Radio Remix)
I've tried to make this my summer song but it was released too damn early. So it's my spring song. Yes it's that good. But anything remixed by passion pit would be. actually sounds just like a passion pit song but without the very high pitched singing and heavy drums. has a fuckton of synth though.

Foals - Spanish Sahara (Mount Kimbie Remix)
OH COME ON, it was slightly too obvious I was going to post this wasn't it? Ah well, for the rather uneducated out there, this is a remix of the new song that foals released last monday. And strangely I think it might actually be better than the original. Which is a shame, but fuck it, it's still a tuuuuune and a half. Calming smokeable herbs + this song = mmmmmmm.

and that'll do me for now, sorry for not posting much atm, coursework and life is really catching up with me.
But while I'm gone, if you want something to do, check up on totallifeforever.co.uk
It's the new foals album site, has clips of all their new songs, one being released every day. also has a quote which L.Bliss says regularly on it "The future is not what it used to be".
true dat.

26 Feb 2010

Now I'm dreaming someone would swiftly come and kidnap me

lets just have some music yeah?

Datsik - Southpaw
My favorite new Dubstep song of the month. Datsik is just too sick. I think the sample used is from N.W.A and it works with the track sooo well. I've already worked out exactly where I'm dropping this in my next mix, it's just a mental track. Sounds proper cut up too, but definitely in a good way.

Passion Pit - The Reeling (Bubblegum Sci Fi Remix)
Oh god, we're so skins right now. Yes I know this song was on a advert for skins, but fuck me what a tune! Reasonably heavy electro mix of a good track by the genius that is passion pit. Although the remixers do have quite a stupid name. Still a track and a half though.

Late Of The Pier - Best In The Class
Oh Fuck yes. LOTP I've missed you, thank you for coming back with a banger. If this is your last track then I'm glad you went out on a bang. This may be my favorite track they've done, including the whole of fantasy black channel. Although I advise against watching the video, especially after beer or a meal. It's quite light for them, no where near as heavy as some of the album or Blueberry, but daaaamn it's a goodn. Proper dancy electroy whatever-the-hell-else-y.

Boys Noize - Jeffer (Para One Remix)
Okay Give this one a chance. I know the it sounds like shit for the first minute but after that it turns into a nice big electro house song. And it is made by the genius that is boys noize so of course it features random blips and beeps but para one shoved a nice beat over the top. Oh god, I've grown a fondness for house music. Someone stop me before I start wearing pink polo shirts with the collar up.

Fake Blood - Mars (Jack Beats Remix)
I've fallen in love with Fake Blood recently, my cousin recommended them to me. Mars is an absolute banggggggeerrrrrrr but good old Jack Beats mashes it up quite nicely. I guess it's sort of electro fidget? a bit too electronic to be dubstep, a bit too bass heavy to be electro. To be honest, Jack Beats deserves his own genre, no one else makes music quite like them.Anyway.

I've got to remember to post more regularly, I'll try to do another full post this week sometime. If I can't then soz.

22 Feb 2010

There is nothing left here to worry about.

Fucksake, now I'm gonna spend the rest of the night trawling through blog posts and shitty gig videos trying to find any news on the new foals album.

-EDIT- Just realised it's really hard to see the image above, sorry should have made it bigger. It's from Foals facebook page and says "Total Life Forever May 10th&New Shows!". I'm exxxxxxcited :D

-RE-EDIT- Just found this on Foals Blog, posted 14 minutes ago. "hey everyone! we have some good news.
// we can finally announce that our second album, TOTAL LIFE FOREVER will be released on May 10th, MMX.

// in addition something pretty, pretty, pretty good will be happening on the airwaves this coming Monday.

// lots more news to come.
it's good to be back.
big love
I'm so excited I dropped my tea mug. FUCK YES.

On an unrelated note, chchchcheck out this song by Crystal Fighters

Absolute fucking tune. I know it's old but I've fallen in love with it.

21 Feb 2010

All night, out on the run.

New favorite band of the week.
Magic Wands
I would write about one specific song of theirs but they all sound so good! I actually might go see them in the summer. The remixes of their songs are just as good as the originals, if not better. I would post the XX remix of Warrior, but then Mel would just fall in love with me. So this will do. I would post the original of this song but I can't find it on youtube. I'll get it up at some point.

Apologies for not posting more recently, It's been a odd week.

15 Feb 2010

ByeBye late of the pier. I'll miss you and your strange sounds.

14 Feb 2010

New blog

ohai, I went and made a new blog so I didn't ruin this one with non-musical things.
made purely for when I can't think of any music and want to write random shit.
check it out yeah?

You sit all alone, with your thoughts, getting stoned, just waiting for some peace to come.

I have literally not said a word to anyone all day. vocally I mean.I don't know why but I'm in a shit mood. well actually I do know why but I can't sort it until I talk to some people. so fuck it, lets ignore life and listen to music

The Shins - Split Needles (Alt. Version)
The shins are a fairly mediocre band who somehow had an epicly good single (New slang). The rest of their stuff isn't actually that great but this version of one of their songs is quite good. It's not a remix, just the same as another song on their album sorta sped up and made to sound better. For some reason reminds me of Foals but with more bass.

La Roux - I'm Not Your Toy ( Nero Remix)
It's Nero. It's La roux. You just know it'll be good. Sounds a lot like their Drake remix but fuckit, it's still a tune and a half. Can't be fuuuuucked to write anymore.

Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Eminem - Forever (Steve Aoki Remix)
Hm, mr aoki what have you done here. It's a odd remix. I mean I like it, but I have no idea how to define it. Fidget-rap-house? yeah that should do. Anyway, everyone should already know the original to this song but this remix is quite good. Not as good as I'd expect from Steve Aoki, but still better that most. Although his speeding up/ slowing down of the rapping is kinda irritating.

N.A.S.A (ft. Spank Rock, Santogold, Nick Zinner & M.I.A.) - Watchadoin?
OldOldOld tune, but still a good one. I have the vinyl of it somewhere, sounds like a beast through good headphones. Plus the fact that it has 3 massssive artists featured in it ( each of which I love) makes it just that bit cooler. Also has literally the most trippy video I have ever seen. I think it may have hypnotised me.

Monsters Of Folk - Map Of The World
Oh lawdy, yes it is time to admit my secret like for abit of folk music. Just the extremely good stuff like this mind. Saw this bands name on some guys shirt at a party on friday night and wrote it on my hand. Fucking glad I did, this is a great song. I've just listened to it on repeat for the last 20mins. and I've just downloaded the album, it looks like a beast.

Still haven't talked to the people I need to, this is irritating now. hopefully Monsters Of Folk album will cheer me up/Calm me down.

3 Feb 2010

I rock it with ill technique.

I feel like death frozen, warmed up in a microwave then chucked into a cold pond to freeze again. Fucking illnesses. And no one even knows what it is so I'm just popping lemsips, nurofen and paracetamol to try and make myself semi-alright so I can go to college and go out on Saturday.
Although one plus side to me being off college is that I have been on the comp a lot looking at music and shizzz. Should probably take this time to catch up on coursework and essays. But that's never gonna happen. Music Time!

Steve Aoki Ft. [[[Zuper Blahq]]] - I'm In The House
Tune for the week/month. or at least for until mr.Aoki releases that album. It's exactly what you'd expect from Steve Aoki; a nice fat slice of electro nonsense with bits of all the best artists shoved in. The drums from Mstrkrft, the beat from Crookers, the bleeps from Boys Noize and so on. Oh and [[[Zuper Blahq]]] is Will.I.Am from The black eyed peas under a different and slightly annoying name. But damn that man can rap!

MSTRKRFT - Bounce (The Bloody Beetroots Remix)
I know that mstrkrft are awesome, but I'm a little ashamed to like the original of this song. It just sounds so corny. "All I do is party ha ha ha ha" repeated about 10 times. That is pretty much it. But at least TBB have gotten rid of that and just turned it into a nice fat piece of electronic goodness. Mmmmm makes you feel warm inside.

-[The rest of this post was made on Sunday. And yes I managed to drag myself out of bed to go to Mr. Hatchwells party, which was goooood. I also invented a new game; "Watching people on mcat doing quite odd things". Literally one of the most fun things I've ever done.]

Chiddy Bang - Opposite Of Adults
I'm preempting that this will become a massively overplayed, used in adverts and sung in the xfactor/Britain's got talent/ some other pointless TV show. But until then lets just enjoy it because it's an absolute fucking tune. It's a grime/rap song which uses the backing beat from MGMT's 'Kids' but makes it so much better! I know there's been a time gap from the start of this post until now, but this song has already taken Steve Aoki's place as Tune of the Week/Month. If you don't click this link you don't deserve ears.

Drake ft. Kanye West ,Lil Wayne and Eminem - Forever/ (Nero Remix)
Now I realise I might be a couple of months late on this one. Which is why I included the Nero remix, to bring it up to date. The original is a bangerrr and I never knew I could enjoy a song that has Kanye West in so much. But something about the nero remix just makes it sounds so much better! It's like Skreams mix of 'In For The Kill'. It's just simplified, plain and quiet but it sounds ridiculously good.
Link -Original
Link -Nero Rmx

Dubba Johnny - Home
I've posted about Dubba Johnny before, can't remember what song it was atm. Anyway UKFDubstep is like the biggest Dubstep promoter on Youtube and they're now posting about this song so Dubba Johnny is getting a fuckload of new fans (Trying to stop myself being a terrible hipster and bragging about how I liked them first..). And good for them! They're nice guys and they're fucking good at what they do. Even though this track sounds like some terrible eurotechno trash at the start, it has a sweeet drop and turns ,subtly, into a massive dubstep tune.

Right that'll do for now. College tomorrow, 6.30 start and I have yet to start one of my many many many essays. Fuck it.

26 Jan 2010

A fairly hyped up selection tonight, mostly drum'n'bass or dubstep, all thanks to Matt Huddlestone and Jace Crowley, the Doobie Kings. Matt's done an epically good skating video which you can see here. And Jace has just started a blog, It's on the Recommended Reading list. Anyway on with the show.

The Bloody Beetroots - Warp ( DJ Oder Drum'n'Bass Remix)
Reeeee-fucking-Diculous song! Seriously, I didn't think anything could make Warp any better, but apparently adding a fuck load of drums onto the track makes it a hell of a lot better. DJ oder extended the drop until it's unbearable. And then some more. But then it kicks in and POW.

Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyes (Jakwob Remix)
This is a subtle little beast. Disguises itself well at the start as a sort of ambient light electro track and the suddenly a Fat old wobble comes in and makes enough bass and noise to shake my laptop speakers. It's usually a good thing when that happens.

Fuck me, I started making this post 6 days ago then got bored. But I'll continue anyway.

John B - Numbers (Camo & Krooked Remix)
It's just a nice little drum and bass number. Nothing that special, who said all music has to be genre smashing and shit. Sometimes you just need the same old idea with a new twist.

Weird Science - Haus Of Cards/ (Laidback Luke Remix)
Right, me and Best friend arranged ages ago that if every woman in the world died or some shit like that, you had to pick one guy to turn gay for. He chose the human testicle from twilight which made me think he may actually be gay. I chose Kele Okereke from Bloc party, but I am officially switching it over to Steve Aoki. The man is a genius. He has his own record label which bloc party And the Bloody Beetroots are signed to. And I've heard a tune from his album which is coming out soon, it's fuckkkkkkkking incredible. Anyway Weird Science is him and someone else collaborating on some tunes, such as this one. It's a banggggger, sort of electrohouseydanceycrap. And if anyone wants a slightly deeper bass tune then the Laidback Luke mix is for you. Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Check it out.
L.L Remix Link

That'll do for now as I have completely lost interest with writing anymore and I'm saving some absolute bangers up for when I get my laptop working again.
If I wanted to make this a personal blog I would now go ahead and tell you about my rather eventful Friday night, very sleepful Saturday (10am till 8am) and fairly normal Sunday. But y'know what I really don't think either of us wants that now do we.

EDIT- Just remembered something I reallyreally want to share with you. You see on the right of the screen theres a nice little badge that says "Part of Vice Blogging Network". Yeah well suck on that mofo. Vice wants me. well they want my blog for advertising purposes mostly, but hey I get a magazine delivered to my house free!

24 Jan 2010

We're gonna do a song that you've never heard before.

It feels like I haven't posted anything for months, thanks to my laptop breaking. I'm still pissed off about that. And so I'm having to use the shitty home computer that takes about 10mins to load a webpage. Stupidshittymachine. Aaaaaanyway, not too bad a weekend, Saw Evil Dead 2 round jace's which was Awwwweeeesome even though I was the only one that liked it.
Fuck it, music time.

Au Revoir Simone - Shadows (The Teenagers Remix)
Au revoir simone can pretty much do nothing wrong in my eyes. They could make a donk-folk-black metal mashup and I'd probably still like it. But the Teenagers add some nice 80's bassline and mess about with the keyboards to make this track even better. To be honest, a french indie band remixing a french-named coffeepop trio shouldn't work, but it sounds great.

Bloc Party - Talons ( Phones RIP Mix)
I think Phones are only good at remixing really. Their remixes are always insanely good and this one is no different. There's loadsa remixes of this song but I don't think any match this. Hell I don't even think the original matches this. And seeing as I am slightly obsessed with Bloc party, that's a hard thing for me to admit.

The Bloody Beetroots - It's Better DJ On 2 Turntables
So apparently, TBB don't just do amazing electro tracks. They also do abit of dubstep, and from the sound of this track, they do it better than a fair amount of the dubstep producers out there.
The start sounds like some ancient rave song, but then the bassline kicks in and it's alllll goooooood. Oh and the song doesn't end at 3.28, it carries on after a little pause. They needed to catch a breather after the intense dub.

Fuck Buttons - Surf Solar
Fuck me sideways, how have I not posted this song before? It's 10 minutes of trippy electronic bliss. Terrible for a party or whatever but good for long trips and shit. The album is reallyreally good as well.
Link to the short version for people who have no patience.
Link to the nice long version for people who want to chill.

End transmission.

12 Jan 2010

I have a psychology exam in approximately 10 hours. I cannot be fucked. And so I'm doing a short post then sleeping.

Pennines - Does not want
I lovelovelove this band at the moment. They've even replaced 'Pretty Eyes' as my song of the week. Its a sort of mathypopyrock but sounds really good. They have a free download up on their myspace so I thought I'd just link there instead. If you want to hear them before the download click here
EP Download (Do It!)

oh you know what I just cannot be fucked to do a proper post. just download that ep.
Moar postings coming when I don't have an exam to do.

9 Jan 2010

Fuck them, I didn't wanna go to heaven anyway.

Right well I'm in a better mood now and it's early in the evening so I can finish what I started yesterday. Today has been a day full of revision which was awesome...
I joke I joke.

Craze - Drop to the Flo
I know there's some songs I shouldn't like but this isn't too bad. It's quite corny, you can imagine it playing in oceana or some other shitty club. But ignore that and it's not too bad. I can't be fucked to listen to this song anymore, it gets quite repetitive after a while.

Pretty Lights - Sunday School
Absolute tune. I'm listening to it through some skullcandys so the bass is ridiculous, but I imagine even through speakers this would be a banger and a half. It sort of sounds like a soundtrack that you'd see on a 'G'unit movie but with some goooood dubstep and electro shoved over the top. It's quite long but it's so worth listening the whole way through to. I think I'll make this my soundtrack for the next week or until I find something better.

Dubba Jonny - Throwin' A Wobbly
I have made it my personal aim for the next few months to get this song well known, atleast with all the people in Winchester who like dubstep. Yes I know it's got nothing new by having a sample from a movie/tv show mixed into the track, and yes the name is meant to be funny but seriously, Lighten up and listen to bass! I haven't been this into a dubstep track since I found Ruskos' Cockney Thug. OH and I haven't even said the best part. These guys (Yes I emailed them to ask for the track and they're very nice chaps) are doing a free tour in the summer. And by free I mean you email them asking them to come down to a party/little gig/whatever your doing and they'll come! seriously, can someone have a massive thing just so I can invite these guys down?

Amanda Blank - Might Like You Better ( Rusko Remix )
Me and some friends were discussing Amanda Blank the other day. I still can't decide if she's good by herself. No denying she's great when she's with spank rock or Diplo but her solo songs just sound abit over the top. She just sounds like she's a female spank rock. But anyway, this has to be one of Rusko's best remix's, either this or his Kid Cudi mix. I know it's quite old but y'know.

Sbtrkt - Right Place
This is quite filthy if you have good headphones. If not then it just sounds like backing music. It's very experimental dubstep and doesn't actually drop until like 2mins in. But to be honest it's still a tune and a half. Also the guy that makes it wears a tribal mask when he DJ's. A god damn tribal mask. Does anyone else think that is too damn cool.

Aaand now I'm done. Good night and , to those doing exams, good luck.
We're gonna need it :|

I can’t lie, I like to get my 2 Step on

too tired to write lots. getting bored of being at home now. have done no revision for the biggest exams I have yet to take in life. should be a fun week then. So I say fuck it, lets plug in our headphones and ignore teachers parents relationshits money parties drugs alcohol and cigarettes.

Railcars - Bohemia Is Without A Sea
dear looooord you would not believe how much I searched for a way to get this song. I nearly ended up learning how to create a website just so I could steal it from this guys myspace. Thankfully I stopped just short of that and found it on some tiny website. anyway back to the song. The guy who makes this (yes, just one guy) is amaaaazing. The songs are sort of lo-fi art rocky pop. Remind me of a mix of Battles and Fuck Buttons. but anyway the songs are great. I'm seriously considering buying the vinyl but it'll have to be shipped all the way from America and I'm not sure I trust the postal service to care for it. Also I spent all my money. ah whatever.

Mumford & Sons - Winter Winds
You have to love abit of folk music. It's so nice and chilled. The only thing I can compare it to is fleet foxes, but without the "We're hippy folk people, look at our beards, see how folkish we are!". Mumford & Sons seem to do that without trying. I prefer Little Lion Man (The song) but everyone seems to have heard that so I thought I'd post a newer one instead. and this song is just as good. also it has a Much better video.

The Bloody Beetroots ft The Cool Kids - Awesome
Probably the second greatest collaboration of musicians you could have ( I still think Justice and Soulwax should make an album together but my ears would probably melt.) Anyway this is a riiiiight banger. And I've only just started getting into the Bloody Beetroot's so apologies if it's very late. And as everyone knows the cool kids are just... well too damn cool for their own good. The video to this song is good as well, I reckon that's what all the animals do when we're away.

Right you know what, I've got a load more songs to put in here but most of them aren't on youtube so I'm gonna have to convert them to video's then upload them so it would take me all night. And so consider this Part 1 of my post. Part 2 will appear by the end of the wkend.

If your at college - Have fun revising.
If you aren't, I hate you.

7 Jan 2010

My phone rings, but It's not you.

Fucking hell, drugs are terrible. Bluuuuuuuuuurgh fuck you valium, I'm never doing you again.
In SUCH a good mood today, but I'm actually missing college and everyone! so this will either be a massively long post or I'll pass out and throw up on the keyboard from the non-alcohol related hangover I have. Have yet to decide.

Justice - Dance (Justice remix)
Incase Hattie Richards reads this, yes I stole it off your fb page. But anyway It's the same as the live version of the song from Across The Universe (best live CD EVER.) except not live. I like what they've done to it though. thank you electro gods.
Okay this should be my last electro-y post for a while, I'm getting tired of synths.
Think this is a good song to end on. The build up is massssive and when it drops, I think a dance is compulsory. Jace played this on NYE when I was trying to not fall down the stairs. I don't know how I remember it but it's a good'n.

Lightspeed Champion - Everyone I Know Is Listening To Crunk
The title of this song is surprisingly apt, except for nowadays it's Dubstep. I'm not complaining, it's just weird how one person likes it and then every person you know has somehow "always loved it". But anyway, gotta love Dev Hynes. He's an amazing singer, wears the most awesome jumpers and was in Test Icicles which instantly gives him masses of music cred. Me and Sam Hatchwell were discussing our favourite ex-bands the other day. For him I think it was Test Icicles and for me DFA1979. We are too hip.

The Bloody Beetroots ft. Steve Aoki - WARP
okay so I lied, I'm not gonna stop posting electrotrash. This song isn't actually that great, just the "woopwoop" drop bit is intense. Especially the one at around 2 mins. Plus I REALLYREALLYREALLY want mr.Aoki's boyznoize shirt. someone buy it for me?

Uffie - Pop The Glock
I played this song at the Prom afterparty and got laughed at. Not a great point in my life but I drowned my sorrows in the Keg I bought. Anyway, now everyone is all "OmDaYz Ke$Ha iS SoOo eDGy aNd rANdom!!11!1! " I thought I'd piss them off by showing them a song thats about 3 years old and sounds the same as Ke$hit- Sorry, Ke$ha. Apart from it's a million times better. And Uffie is so much hotter. Also Feadz Is pretty good at the beat making too. But Mr. Oizo does a better job on "Steroids"

That would be enough for now I think.

P.s, does anyone know if it's true that Uffie is pregnant? I hope not, She needs to make more songs!

2 Jan 2010

How Gangsta is that? Not Gangsta at all.

Ladies and gents, I'm tired/bored/depressed/bleeding/angry. The perfect blogging mood.
I'm gonna do lots of songs with small writing cos my attention span is lowwwww.

Noisia - Groundhog (Scratch perverts DJ hero remix)
I'm not usually into drum&bass but this shit is impressive. And yes I have played it on DJ hero and nearly broke my wrist. Just watch some of the people doing it. The original to this song is quite good but Scratch perverts little remix with the vocals make it sound reallyreally fucking good.

Jay-Z - Venus vs. Mars
I only just realised how dirty this song is. But it's still gooood. Jay-Z is one of the best rappers in the world, and this is proper rap none of that shitty Rhianna pop shit. The Blueprint3 was one of my favourite albums of last year just cos Jay-Z has started doing good rap again. And if anyone knows if it actually is Beyonce singing in this song, let me know, there's been a lot of debate about this.

The Cool Kids - A Little Bit Cooler
Gangsters who are secretly scene geeks. But at least they can rap. Real rap not grime. I love how this song is about every single thing I do and how I always think I'm cool. It's shameful but true. The rapping actually makes sense as well, it's smart rap. Damn these kids are cool.

YILA Feat. Scroobius Pip - Astronaut
God, I haven't listened to this song in ages and it still sounds ridiculously good. Mr. Pip is a poetical god and YILA is a younger Dan Le Sac. At least I think he's younger. Also I haven't seen the video to this before, godDamn it's a good one.

London Elektricty - Just One Second
Okay so I say I don't like Drum&Bass and then I post it twice in one blog. I still don't particularly like it, but this song deserves it's own genre. Seriously, I am downing some drugs and turning this shit on because I know I'll be flyyyyyying. My step-sisters boyfriend played me this song ages ago and cos I didn't like him, I didn't listen to it. But he's gone and the song is still here. And veryvery good.

Right, that's enough now. This post took me 3 days because I kept on getting distracted. So I'm no longer in the mood at the top of the post, but I am still bleeding annoyingly.
